Turkish Cypriot leader Tufan Erhurman has telephoned DISY President Annita Demetriou and AKEL General Secretary Stefanos Stefanou to congratulate them on the results of Sunday’s parliamentary elections.
According to reports in the Turkish Cypriot media, a statement by the Turkish Cypriot leadership said Erhurman called Demetriou, whose party emerged first with 27.1% of the vote, and Stefanou, whose party came second with 23.9%.
The calls were made to convey congratulations following the election result, the statement said.
