Minister of Justice and Public Order Kostas Fytiris convened a meeting at Larnaca Airport on Tuesday following concerns over congestion during periods of increased passenger traffic.
The discussion covered conditions inside the terminal as well as congestion in access routes and passenger drop-off and pick-up areas.
Measures to reduce passenger disruption
According to the Ministry of Justice and Public Order, representatives of the relevant authorities and services reviewed the current situation and considered ways to alleviate the problem.
The measures are intended to reduce disruption for passengers and drivers, improve services for travellers and strengthen coordination among all bodies involved in the airport’s operation.
Continuous assessment and coordination
Fytiris stressed the need for procedures to be assessed continuously and for closer cooperation among the competent services.
The aim, the ministry said, is to ensure that problems are addressed promptly and that Larnaca Airport operates as smoothly as possible, particularly during peak travel periods.
