Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos held separate telephone calls with his Greek and Egyptian counterparts on Friday, focusing on developments across the region.
The discussions also addressed trilateral cooperation, the Eastern Mediterranean and Cyprus-Egypt energy ties.
Ongoing coordination with Greece
In a post on X, Kombos said his conversation with Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis took place “as part of our ongoing coordination”.
He said the two ministers discussed current regional developments and matters concerning trilateral cooperation.
Focus on energy cooperation
In a separate post, Kombos described his conversation with Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty as “substantive”.
The two discussed recent developments in the wider Middle East, including the Eastern Mediterranean, as well as bilateral cooperation between Cyprus and Egypt, with particular emphasis on the energy sector.
“We agreed to remain in close contact,” Kombos said.
