The Global Sumud Flotilla announced that on Friday, 8 May, its vessels will depart from Greece, heading towards Turkey, with the stated goal of breaking the Israeli embargo on Gaza.
In a post on the platform X, the Global Sumud Flotilla wrote “Türkiye, we are coming," adding that more than 30 vessels are expected to join ships already in waiting.

According to the announcement, the flotilla will gather in Marmaris, where an international assembly of the movement is scheduled for 10 and 11 May. The aim, it said, is to deepen the political strategy of the initiative and outline the next steps of the mission.
The graphics accompanying the post include messages such as “Türkiye, we are on our way” and “more than 30 vessels will make a technical stop in Turkey.”
