According to the Government Spokesperson Constantinos Letymbiotis, the Conference forms part of the coordination process between Nicosia and the European Parliament ahead of Cyprus assuming the EU Council Presidency next year. He noted that the meeting aims to strengthen institutional cooperation and align priorities for an ambitious but realistic agenda.
The discussions are expected to emphasise issues central to the upcoming Presidency, including regional stability in the Eastern Mediterranean, European security, energy policy, migration management, and the digital and green transitions. The Government Spokesperson highlighted that the agenda reflects the European Union’s role in addressing international challenges while maintaining stability, democracy and prosperity for citizens.
