The new Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General and head of UNFICYP, Khassim Diagne, will begin his first round of contacts with the two leaders next week.
According to information from the Cyprus News Agency, the initial meetings will be held separately, possibly on Wednesday or Thursday. Diagne succeeds Colin Stewart, who completed his term in August 2025.
“I am honoured and grateful to be here in Cyprus as the Special Representative of the Secretary-General. I look forward to working with all our partners across Cyprus,” Diagne said upon his arrival.
Further details on the schedule and agenda are expected in the coming days.
