Holquin expected back on the island in late January.

Nicosia has maintained contact with María Ángela Holguín Cuéllar and she is returning to the island late January, President Christodoulides disclosed, adding that he would expect a trilateral with the UNSG's personal Cyprus envoy and the Turkish Cypriot leader Tufan Erhürman.

'Before coming over, Holguín will also be visiting a number of other countries, pertinent to the sounding out and preparation for an informal multilateral conference that will announce the resumption of talks where they left off at Crans Montana,' the President said.

There is far from inaction as developments are ongoing, he noted, with Holguín set to announce her programme of contacts and all the relevant dates in the near future.

The multilateral conference was scheduled to take place last December, pertinent to an António Guterres announcement earlier in 2025.
