A total of 60 convictions were recorded in child sexual abuse cases during 2025, according to the Police Communication Branch.
It is noted that “behind every number there is a case that was investigated in depth. There is systematic work, specialisation and professionalism by members of the Vulnerable Persons Cases Management Sub‑Directorate, with the aim of ensuring that every case is pursued through to its conclusion.”
“Our priority is clear: the protection of minors. Through a multi‑disciplinary approach, we ensure immediate and effective investigation, child‑friendly procedures and meaningful support at every stage,” the statement adds.
In cooperation with the organisation Hope For Children CRC Policy Center and the ‘House of the Child’, “we stand by the victims with respect, care and responsibility. Protecting children is everyone’s responsibility,” the statement concludes.
