A significant drop in temperatures on Saturday and some brief local showers in certain areas are expected over the weekend, according to Michalis Mouskos, officer at the Meteorological Department, who spoke to Politis. From Sunday and especially on Monday, the weather is forecast to improve notably, with rising temperatures and conditions that will feel more like a sunny autumn day than a rainy November.
Mr. Mouskos explained that Saturday will bring a noticeable fall in temperature, with maximums reaching around 20 degrees Celsius inland, well below recent days’ levels.
" The drop will be sharp, mainly due to colder air masses temporarily affecting the region, " he noted.
The weather will be partly cloudy, with the possibility of local showers or an isolated thunderstorm, mainly south of Troodos toward Limassol, while elsewhere on the island there will be sunny intervals with thin cloud cover.

The picture changes quickly, however. From Sunday, conditions will stabilize, and by Monday temperatures will rise again, reaching 25 to 26 degrees Celsius inland.
" Essentially, from the start of the week the weather will feel more autumnal than like mid-November. No rain is expected at least until the end of next week, " Mr. Mouskos emphasized.
Some rain at last
Over the past days, rainfall has been significant, mainly in the mountainous areas of Nicosia and in the city itself, where 35 millimetres were recorded. At the Athalassa weather station, 15 millimetres were measured, while rainfall in the eastern mountain regions was at similar levels.
On Thursday, showers were reported in Larnaca, with more possible along the coasts later in the evening before the weather system fully moves away.
Mouskos noted that despite the recent rainfall, November’s cumulative precipitation stands at just 17 percent of the monthly average, temporarily boosted to 21 percent by Wednesday’s downpours.
" It’s still too early for conclusions, but we’ll need several more rainfall episodes to reach normal November levels, " he added.
According to the Meteorological Department, the coming week will generally be clear and mild, with temperatures above seasonal averages and no sign of a new rain system.
" After Saturday’s brief cool spell, we return to mild and pleasant conditions. November looks set to continue with sunshine, " Mr. Mouskos concluded.
