Α Βritish man who was carrying large amounts of illegally purchased tobacco products to the UK, including almost 30 thousand cigarettes, was caught by customs at the Paphos airport departures control area and remanded in custody for four days by the district court over violations of the green line regulation.

Following a tip off yesterday, airport officers and customs discovered and confiscated 135 cartons of 200 cigarettes each, 4 packets of 20 cigarettes and 500 grams of loose tobacco for rolled cigarettes in the man's luggage, purchased in the north during his holiday on the island.
