The Embassy of Cyprus in Finland, which also covers Estonia, is in contact with the Cyprus Handball Federation and the men’s national team delegation in Estonia following a road accident involving the team’s bus early on Saturday, travelling from Tallinn to Põlva for the match against Estonia.

“We are ready to provide all possible assistance,” the Embassy stated in a post.

The Handball Federation issued a statement earlier, reporting that there were no serious injuries and no cause for concern.

Two members of the delegation were taken to hospital and are currently receiving treatment.

The Handball Federation emphasised that it is taking all necessary measures, both in Cyprus and abroad, to ensure the safe and swift return of the national players and the delegation to Cyprus.
