Rain, Dust and Falling Temperatures Expected Across Cyprus

Increased cloud cover, dust in the atmosphere until Wednesday and possible snowfall on the highest peaks of Troodos forecast during the week.

Weather conditions across Cyprus are set to shift over the coming days, with rain, dust and a gradual drop in temperatures. Snowfall is possible on Tuesday on the highest peaks of the Troodos mountain range.

A weak high-pressure system is temporarily affecting the area, while dust will be present in the atmosphere from today until Wednesday.

Conditions for today

Periods of increased cloud cover, mainly medium and high clouds, are expected. Winds will blow north-easterly to south-easterly, light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort, and locally strong at 5 Beaufort.

The sea will be generally rough. Temperatures will rise to around 22°C inland and along the coast, and to 17°C in the higher mountainous areas.

At times, increased medium and high cloud cover will continue. Winds will be variable and light at 3 Beaufort. The sea will be slight to slightly rough.

Temperatures will fall to 9°C inland, around 12°C along the coast and 7°C in the higher mountainous areas.

Forecast for Tuesday and Wednesday

On Tuesday, the weather will be partly cloudy at intervals, with localised showers mainly in the mountains and the south-west.

On Wednesday, rain and isolated thunderstorms are expected, with phenomena gradually weakening in the afternoon. Snowfall is possible on the highest peaks of Troodos.

Outlook for Thursday and temperature trend

On Thursday, periods of increased cloud cover, mainly in the mountains, may give isolated showers.

Temperatures will gradually decrease over the three-day period, settling near or slightly above average climatic values for the season.
