Milo the dog who went missing six months ago from the Kiti area in Larnaca, has been incredibly lucky. The sweet‑natured dog was finally found in Nicosia, bringing an end to months of anguish for his owners.

According to a post by volunteer and dog rescuer Kyveli Elisium, Milo was located in Nicosia in the “possession” of another person and wearing a collar that did not belong to him. A woman who found him took him to a veterinary clinic, where his microchip was scanned.

That check proved decisive. The microchip immediately led to the identification of his real owners – and to the phone call they had been waiting for over many months. Six months after his disappearance, Milo was finally reunited with his family.

The case, which had moved and mobilised people of all ages in Kiti, highlights once again the importance of proper identification and registration of companion animals. As volunteers repeatedly note, a microchip can be the crucial factor between a dog being lost forever and a happy reunion.
