Vehicle owners have until tomorrow to renew their road tax licences without incurring any penalty.
The Road Transport Department reminded the public that the deadline for renewing vehicle road tax for the year 2026 expires on March 31, 2026.
Citizens are urged to complete the renewal of their vehicle licence in good time to avoid inconvenience, particularly on the final day of the deadline.
After March 31, 2026, renewals will be subject to an additional fee of €10, plus an amount equal to 10% of the road tax corresponding to the outstanding payment.
It is also noted that the process for refunding the surcharge to eligible vehicle owners who renewed their road tax on March 12 and 13, 2026 is currently underway and will be completed in accordance with the procedures of the Republic’s Treasury.
