Rescue teams worked throughout the night at the site of a collapsed apartment building in Germasogeia, but no trapped individuals were found.

According to a post by a Fire Service spokesperson, crews removed rubble and debris from the eastern side of the building without locating anyone. However, search operations are set to continue today using the same approach.

Two people were pulled dead from the wreckage during yesterday’s operations, while four others were taken to private and public hospitals for treatment.

The Deputy Mayor of Mesa Geitonia, Marinos Kyriakou, told reporters that the building had been declared unfit for use, and that a relevant notice had been sent to the owners as early as last March.

Meanwhile, Costas Michael, head of the Limassol CID, said the building contained 11 flats and, based on initial information, at least 20 people had been living there.
