Police in Larnaca arrested three men on Thursday as part of an investigation into drug supply and possession with intent to distribute.
According to the police communications branch, officers from the Drug Law Enforcement Unit (YKAN) acted on intelligence and stopped a vehicle at around 3:30pm. The car was driven by a 26-year-old, with two passengers aged 30 and 23.
A search of the vehicle uncovered 26 nylon packages containing a total of 14 grams of heroin, which were seized as evidence.
Further checks revealed that the two passengers were residing in the Republic of Cyprus illegally. The driver was also found to be operating the vehicle without a valid road tax licence or certificate of roadworthiness.
During a follow-up search at the residence where the three men were staying, police located and confiscated €190 in cash. A 24-year-old woman was also found at the property and arrested for illegal residence.
The three male suspects were later detained under court warrants to assist with the ongoing investigation.
