For the 25th consecutive year, ERB ASFALISTIKI, a member of EUROBANK -the leading banking and insurance Group in the island-, and the Cyprus Fire Service, are joining forces, implementing initiatives aimed at informing and raising public awareness about the dangers posed by fires and the protective measures against them.
Fire Safety Week 2026, under the central message "Let’s not leave our dreams turn into ashes!" will take place from April 20 to April 26, 2026, under the auspices of the Honorable Minister of Justice and Public Order, Mr Costas Fytiris.
The launch of the week’s activities was marked by a press conference held on April 20 at the headquarters of the ERB CYPRUS INSURANCE HOLDINGS. Greeting remarks were delivered by the Minister of Justice and Public Order, Mr. Costas Fytiris, the Chief Fire Officer, Mr. Nicos Logginos the CEO of ERB INSURANCE HOLDINGS Group, Mr. Takis Phidia, and the General Manager of ERB ASFALISTIKI, Mr. Andreas C. Stylianou.
As part of the press conference, ERB ASFALISTIKI delivered to the Cyprus Fire Service its second fire safety training simulator, the Attack Digital Fire Training Panel, while the first simulator, the Intelligent System Training (I.T.S), had been delivered at a previous press conference on March 23, 2026. The total value of the two systems amounts to over €40,000. The two modern, innovative firefighting simulation systems contribute to safe and realistic training for both newly recruited members of the Fire Service and the general public, with a low environmental impact.
The highlight of Fire Safety Week will be the Open Day event for the public, which will take place on Saturday, April 25, 2026, from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm in front of the Medieval Castle of Paphos. Attendees will have the opportunity to see Fire Service vehicles and equipment and receive information on fire safety, while children will enjoy specially designed activities, including entertainment such as stilt walker.
The event will be broadcast live on the radio. Representatives of ERB ASFALISTIKI and Cyprus Fire Service, will be present on-site to inform the public on fire safety matters and distribute symbolic gifts.
