The Beauty Line Art Foundation (BAF) presents The Promise That Remains, its first group exhibition, opening today in the heart of Nicosia. The exhibition marks the culmination of the Foundation’s two-month residency programme, hosted at its studios.
The exhibition emerged from the open call You Promised Me Love and shifts attention away from the promise itself to what lingers when that promise fractures or falls silent: the trace, the shadow, and the fragile architecture that continues to exist even after certainty collapses.

From residency to exhibition
Four artists Anna Psalti, Eirini Kattou, Marina Ieridou (lamarina), and Savina Ioannou, were selected by a five-member jury and worked within the BAF residency programme for two months, guided by four mentors. All works presented in the exhibition were produced entirely during this period of research and artistic production.
Jury and mentors
The programme’s jury and mentors were:
Maria Loizidou, Maria Stathi, Souzana Petri, Elpida Frangeskidou, Andreas Stylianou, Giorgos Antoniou.
An exhibition of presence and absence
Using a wide range of media and materials, the works approach the idea of promise as an unstable space between presence and absence: a relationship that transforms, persists, and dissolves, allowing new meanings to emerge. Language fragments, space shifts, and images return as delayed memories, composing a landscape in which intimacy and distance coexist.
Rather than proposing a single narrative, the exhibition invites a state of lingering and listening: a constant oscillation between before and after, where the unspoken operates not as absence, but as an active condition.
The Promise That Remains invites viewers to move within this tension, toward something unfulfilled, something that persists, something that continues to leave its mark.
