Ship Management Sector Posts Record Revenues, Topping €1.9 Billion for First Time

Cyprus-based ship management companies generated more than €1.9 billion in revenue in 2025, the highest figure recorded in the period from 2020 to 2025, according to Central Bank of Cyprus research presented to the Cyprus Shipping Chamber.

Cyprus's ship management sector has posted its strongest performance on record, with total industry revenues exceeding €1.9 billion for the first time in 2025, according to a survey conducted by the Balance of Payments Service of the Central Bank of Cyprus Statistics Department. The findings were presented on Wednesday by Dr Chryso Aristeidou, Senior Officer of the Statistics Department, at the monthly meeting of the Cyprus Shipping Chamber.

The survey, conducted on a biannual basis since March 2009, tracks the contribution of ship management companies operating in Cyprus and providing services to shipowning companies both locally and internationally. Results for the second half of 2025, covering the period from 1 July to 31 December, show revenues from ship management companies in Cyprus reaching €1 billion, a 2.3% increase compared to the first half of the year. The sector's contribution equates to 5.4% of Cyprus's GDP.

Combined with the first half results, the full-year figure surpasses €1.9 billion, marking the highest level recorded across the 2020 to 2025 period. The Cyprus Shipping Chamber described the milestone as clear evidence of the sector's growing importance to the national economy, reinforcing Cyprus's economic activity, employment and international competitiveness.
