A high-level conference on digital health will take place in Limassol on April 29–30, in the framework of Cyprus’ Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

Organised by the National eHealth Authority in cooperation with Cyprus' Ministry of Health, the two-day event will focus on strengthening digital health and leveraging health data as a strategic resource for Europe.

The conference will bring together representatives from EU institutions, member states, international organisations, academia and innovation bodies, with discussions focused on building a secure, interoperable European Health Data Space and the responsible use of artificial intelligence to support a stronger European Health Union.

Shaping EU digital health

Key topics include the transition from policy to implementation, the readiness of member states, governance models, and the integration of digital health services to improve care quality and foster innovation.

The event will open with remarks by Professor Constantinos Pattichis, President of the National eHealth Authority, who is expected to outline the vision for a trusted and human-centric European health ecosystem.

The second day will focus on practical implementation, including the presentation of results from the Xt-EHR project, which involves 25 EU member states and aims to enhance interoperability of electronic health records across Europe.

According to organisers, the conference highlights Cyprus’ role as an active contributor to shaping Europe’s digital health strategy, while promoting collaboration, innovation and the secure use of health data for the benefit of citizens.

Proceedings will also be streamed online, allowing wider participation from health professionals, researchers and stakeholders across Europe.
