Job Vacancies Reach 13,538 in Cyprus

Vacancies increased compared with last year but declined from the previous quarter, according to new data from the Statistical Service

The number of job vacancies in Cyprus reached 13,538 in the fourth quarter of 2025, marking an increase of 541 positions (4.2 percent) compared with the same quarter of the previous year, when vacancies stood at 12,997, according to figures released on Monday by the Statistical Service of Cyprus.

Compared with the third quarter of 2025, however, vacancies declined by 1,035 positions, representing a 7.1 percent decrease.

The vacancy rate, defined as the share of vacant posts relative to the total number of filled and vacant positions, stood at 2.8 percent in the fourth quarter of 2025.

In the previous quarter the rate had been 3.0 percent, while in the same quarter of 2024 it was 2.8 percent.

Sectors with the most vacancies

The highest vacancy rates in the fourth quarter of 2025 were recorded in the following sectors:

  • Administrative and support service activities: 3.9 percent

  • Wholesale and retail trade, including repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles: 3.8 percent

  • Mining and quarrying: 3.6 percent
