A new 4.9-magnitude earthquake struck Skiathos on Tuesday afternoon, following an earlier 4.7-magnitude tremor that was also felt in Attica.
According to the Geodynamic Institute of Athens, the latest earthquake had a focal depth of 14.1 kilometres and its epicentre was located eight kilometres north-northwest of Skiathos, on land.
Earlier, a 4.7-magnitude earthquake was recorded eight kilometres west of the island. Both tremors were felt in Attica.
Local outlet Skiathoslife reported that there were no immediate reports of damage, while vehicles were carrying out inspections in and around the town.
Tremor also recorded near Sifnos
A 3.9-magnitude earthquake was also recorded near Sifnos shortly after 4.10 pm on Tuesday, April 28.
According to the Geodynamic Institute, the epicentre was located 10 kilometres southwest of Sifnos.
The tremor came just minutes after the earthquake in Skiathos, which was also felt in Attica.
