Turkey has unveiled the Yildirimhan ballistic missile at SAHA Expo 2026 in Istanbul, with Turkish media reporting that the system has a range of 6,000 kilometres.

According to Turkish reports, the missile is being described as the country’s first intercontinental ballistic missile. The same reports say Yildirimhan could reach speeds ranging from Mach 9 to Mach 25.

The missile was presented by Turkey’s National Defence Ministry R&D Centre during SAHA Expo 2026, one of the country’s main defence, aerospace and space industry exhibitions.

The exhibition is taking place in Istanbul from 5 to 9 May and brings together Turkish defence companies, public institutions, military delegations and industry representatives from abroad.

The reported specifications have not been independently verified. However, if confirmed, the missile would mark a significant expansion of Turkey’s long-range missile capabilities.
