Israeli armed forces targeted the southern suburbs of Beirut, traditionally considered strongholds of pro-Iranian Hezbollah, subsequently announcing that they eliminated a senior member of the organisation in Dahiyie.

The strike is the latest in a series of ceasefire violations after a deal was signed between the Israeli government and the Lebanese armed group exactly a year ago in an effort to de-escalate tensions and prevent yet another all out war in Lebanon.

The attack follows a series of Israeli strikes in the south of the country, with Al Jajeera calling them 'an almost daily occurence', adding to previous multiple air raids in Beirut.
