Iran’s military has warned it will unleash “far more destructive” retaliation if the United States and Israel continue strikes against civilian infrastructure in the Islamic Republic.

In a statement issued early Monday, a spokesperson for Iran’s military command said any further attacks on non-military targets would trigger a significantly intensified response. The warning suggested that future retaliatory phases would be broader in scope and far more damaging, with losses potentially multiplying if such strikes persist.

The remarks mark a sharp escalation in rhetoric as tensions continue to rise in the region, with Tehran signalling it is prepared to expand both the scale and impact of its response.

Strike near Tehran disrupts gas supply

Meanwhile, parts of Tehran have been without natural gas since Sunday following an airstrike that reportedly struck near a university facility, damaging nearby distribution infrastructure.

According to Iran’s state broadcaster, Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting, the attack targeted the Sharif University of Technology. Authorities said a gas distribution station located close to the university was hit, leading to a disruption in supply across the surrounding area.

The developments come amid an increasingly volatile security situation, with concerns growing over further escalation and its potential impact on civilian infrastructure.
