President Nikos Christodoulides said Cyprus had once again demonstrated its capacity to punch above its weight on the European stage, in a post on X published on Saturday following the conclusion of the Informal European Council summit.

"Over these past two days, Cyprus delivered. Hosting, for the first time, an informal European Council in our region, we brought together EU leaders at a critical moment, not only to exchange views, but to move forward with purpose. We have proven, once again, that Cyprus can convene, can contribute, and can play a meaningful role in shaping developments beyond its size," he wrote.

Christodoulides said he "resolutely" believes in Cyprus's "potential, its role, its ability to connect regions and deliver beyond expectations," closing with a direct expression of national pride. "I am proud of our country, proud of what we have achieved, and confident in what we can continue to deliver," he added.
