The Ministry of Interior remains on full alert, closely monitoring developments under the framework of the “Estia” Plan and in coordination with all competent services.
Civil Defence teams are present in the Akrotiri municipal district, providing information to residents and assisting with the transfer of citizens to temporary accommodation facilities. Patrols are also being conducted in the area to offer support where needed.
In a statement, the Ministry said precautionary guidance is being issued in view of the tense situation in the region. Members of the public are informed that, should the need arise, sirens will sound in affected areas and announcements will be broadcast through various communication channels.
Shelter locations can be identified via the “SafeCY” application or by contacting the Civil Defence General Directorate’s Operations Control Centre on 22 403 451 or 22 403 452.
Where no nearby shelter is available, citizens are advised to remain indoors in a secure location within their home or workplace, such as underground parking areas or spaces with solid walls.
