Helplines and public authorities provide support across school, workplace and online environments.

Bullying can occur in different settings, from schools and workplaces to online platforms. In Cyprus, a number of institutions and helplines offer support and reporting channels, with specific services depending on the nature of each case.

General helplines and urgent support

For immediate assistance, the helpline 1440 operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week under the Association for the Prevention and Handling of Violence in the Family, offering support in cases involving abuse and violence.

The Cyprus Police provides the Citizen Communication Line 1460, available 24/7, for complaints, reports and guidance.

For online harassment and cyberbullying, CyberEthics operates the helpline 1480, available Monday to Friday, 08:00–17:00.

School bullying

In cases involving school environments, the first step is to contact the school administration, including the headteacher or school counsellors.

Additional support is provided by the Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth. Enquiries can be directed to +357 22 800 600, typically operating during public service hours (Monday to Friday, 07:30–15:00).

Workplace bullying

Employees facing harassment can contact the Department of Labour Relations at +357 22 008 700, with services generally available Monday to Friday, 08:00–15:00. Complaints can be submitted anonymously or with full details.

For matters related to workplace safety and health, the Department of Labour Inspection can be reached at +357 22 405 600, operating during standard public sector hours.

The Commissioner for Administration and Protection of Human Rights accepts complaints regarding public services at +357 22 405 500, also during weekday office hours.

Anonymous reporting and corruption

The Independent Authority Against Corruption accepts anonymous complaints through its official channels. Information is available via +357 22 044 444, typically Monday to Friday, 08:00–15:00.

Cypriot legislation provides protection in cases of workplace bullying and harassment. The availability of dedicated helplines and authorities ensures that individuals can seek guidance, document incidents and pursue formal complaints when necessary.
