Government targets export growth and stronger US market presence through participation in North America's largest specialty food trade show.

Cyprus promoted its food and beverage sector at North America's largest specialty food exhibition, seeking to boost exports and raise the profile of traditional Cypriot products in the United States market.

The Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry said it participated in the Summer Fancy Food Show 2026 in New York from June 28-30, in cooperation with the Cyprus Trade Centre in New York.

Held at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, the annual event attracts thousands of food industry professionals and exhibitors from around the world, providing a platform for companies and national trade bodies to showcase products and explore commercial opportunities.

Cyprus used its presence at the exhibition to highlight the quality and authenticity of its food and beverage sector as part of a broader strategy to strengthen the international recognition of Cypriot products.

Visitors to the Cyprus pavilion sampled a range of traditional products, including Halloumi PDO cheese, Commandaria wine and other Cypriot specialties. The stand was also visited by Cyprus' Consul General in New York, Kyriakos Poyiatzis.

The ministry said participation formed part of ongoing efforts to help Cypriot businesses expand export activity and increase their presence in international markets.

Aristos Constantinou, Trade Counsellor at the Cyprus Trade Centre in New York, said the exhibition provided an opportunity to promote Cypriot products in the United States while facilitating business partnerships that could support export growth and the expansion of Cyprus' agri-food sector in the US market.
