Rosewood Hong Kong retained the top spot in the World's 50 Best Hotels 2026 list, with Asian properties claiming the first three places.

The world's leading luxury hotels for 2026 have been revealed at the World's 50 Best Hotels 2026 awards ceremony in Paris, with Rosewood Hong Kong named the world's best hotel for a second consecutive year.

The ranking was compiled from votes cast by more than 800 hospitality industry experts, who assessed hotels based on service quality and guest experience.

Located in Hong Kong, Rosewood Hong Kong is renowned for its views of Victoria Harbour, luxury suites, dining offerings and high-end wellness facilities.

The 2026 ranking highlights Asia's continued strength in luxury hospitality, with the top three positions occupied by hotels in Hong Kong and Thailand.

The world's top 10 hotels

  1. Rosewood Hong Kong (Hong Kong)
  2. Capella Bangkok (Thailand)
  3. Four Seasons Bangkok at Chao Phraya River (Thailand)
  4. Atlantis The Royal (Dubai, UAE)
  5. Passalacqua (Lake Como, Italy)
  6. Rosewood São Paulo (Brazil)
  7. Mandarin Oriental Qianmen (Beijing, China)
  8. The Upper House (Hong Kong)
  9. Chablé Yucatán (Mexico)
  10. Mandarin Oriental Bangkok (Thailand)

Notably, three of the world's top 10 hotels are located in Bangkok, underlining the Thai capital's growing status as a premier luxury travel destination.

Greek hotel ranks 27th

Greece secured a place in the global ranking through Four Seasons Astir Palace Vouliagmeni, which was ranked 27th among the world's top 50 hotels.

Located on the Athens Riviera, the luxury resort features private beaches, high-end suites, fine-dining restaurants, wellness facilities and premium guest services.

The distinction is particularly significant as the property has now appeared in the global ranking for a second consecutive year, further enhancing the international profile of Greece's hospitality sector.

Cyprus absent from the ranking

Unlike Greece, Cyprus did not have a hotel included in the World's 50 Best Hotels 2026 ranking.

Despite continued investment in luxury accommodation and growth in the island's hospitality sector, no Cypriot property secured a place on this year's list.

The absence does not constitute an overall assessment of the quality of Cyprus' hotel industry, since the ranking reflects the choices of international hospitality experts rather than a comprehensive evaluation of all hotels.

The 2026 list nevertheless reinforces broader trends in global tourism, with luxury increasingly defined not only by architecture and facilities, but also by personalised service, gastronomy, wellness and authentic experiences.
