Visit Finland is offering selected singles a chance to travel to Helsinki or Tampere for a four-day culinary and matchmaking experience.

Could a trip to Finland lead you to the love of your life?

That's the question behind a new campaign by Visit Finland, which is inviting solo travellers to discover what it describes as "Europe's last undiscovered cuisine" through a unique combination of food, travel and dating.

The initiative follows a nationwide effort to identify the dishes that best represent Finland and its regions. Working with leading Finnish chefs, Visit Finland developed four official tasting menus showcasing local flavours, traditions and culinary heritage.

Two of the menus were presented to international travellers in September. The remaining two will now form the centrepiece of a new dating-focused experience.

Dinner dates in Helsinki and Tampere

In February 2027, a total of 16 selected singles will take part in the Finnish Dinner Date experiences.

One event will be held in Helsinki, while the other will take place in Tampere, in Finland's Lakeland region.

According to Visit Finland, participants will have the opportunity to explore Finnish culture, sample regional cuisine and perhaps even find romance along the way.

Four-day trip with all expenses covered

Applications are already open.

Successful applicants will receive an all-expenses-paid four-day trip to Finland, including accommodation, activities and meals throughout their stay.

The exact destination will remain a surprise until participants are selected and confirm their place.

The programme will culminate in a group dinner date featuring one of the official Finnish tasting menus.

Eight winners will be chosen for the Helsinki experience and another eight for the Tampere event.

Each dinner will also include two local Finnish singles.

The Finnish Dinner Date experiences are scheduled to take place between 9 and 19 February 2027.

According to Visit Finland, applications can be completed through the campaign's dedicated website.
