Upgrading children's healthcare, with a particular focus on paediatric cancer care, remains a priority for the Ministry of Health, Health Minister Neophytos Charalambides said on Friday during a ceremony marking the handover of medical equipment to the Paediatric Oncology Ward at Archbishop Makarios III Hospital.
"I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the Lions Club of Limassol Aphrodite for its donation to the Paediatric Oncology Ward at Archbishop Makarios III Hospital," the Minister said.
He said the donation would strengthen a department that provides daily care to children and their families during one of the most challenging periods of their lives.

According to Charalambides, the vital signs monitoring equipment will help ensure the continuous monitoring of young patients and support the work of healthcare professionals.
He reiterated that upgrading paediatric and paediatric oncology care services remains a priority for the Ministry of Health.
"In this context, we will also proceed with the construction of a new paediatric oncology clinic adjacent to Archbishop Makarios III Hospital, with the cost to be covered by the Cleanthous Foundation," he added.
