Drivers will soon be able to check their penalty points online, a service that has not, until now, been available to citizens.
A new online portal
According to Inspector Tasos Asiikkis of the Traffic Police Headquarters, a dedicated website is being prepared through the government's CY Login online portal (formerly Ariadni), which is currently at the testing stage.
According to estimates from the department responsible, the IT Department, the system is expected to become operational within September to October.
How to check penalty points for now
At present, citizens can find out their penalty points only by visiting a police station in person and presenting their identity card.
As a reminder, since 1 February 2025, penalty points have been required for the temporary suspension of a driving licence, while each penalty point imposed is written off two years after it was issued.
