One container ship, not two
A TUI Cruises spokesperson clarified that the cruise ship collided with only one container ship, not two, as some media had reported.
According to the spokesperson, Mein Schiff 3 is moored at the pier and an assessment of the damage is under way. Experts are at the scene examining both vessels.
Passengers and crew
At the time of the incident, there were 2,428 passengers and 922 crew members on board. There were no injuries, and for the time being everyone is able to remain on the ship.
Damage to the container ship
German newspaper Nordsee-Zeitung reported that the container ship sustained damage to its sides, but no water enteredthe vessel.
The company spokesperson said further information would be released once “confirmed details” were available.
This is a developing story.
