Passengers disembarked without incident after security protocols were activated, while authorities remain on alert.

A flight from Prague to Cyprus that received a bomb threat on Friday has landed safely at the old Larnaca airport, where passengers disembarked without incident. The aircraft was one of several flights to and from the Czech capital targeted that day, as dozens of commercial flights across Europe have faced false alarms this week.

Landing in Larnaca

Passengers told politis.com.cy that the flight landed at the old Larnaca airport after security protocols were activated, and that everyone disembarked safely.

According to information available, there is no cause for concern, but authorities remain on alert.

Threats against flights at Prague airport

Prague airport spokesperson Denisa Hejtmánková told Agence France-Presse (AFP) that four flights arriving at the airport and five departing from it had been targeted.

“The threats concern arrivals from Denmark, Great Britain and two from Spain. As for departures, these are flights to the Netherlands, Cyprus, Romania, Italy and Great Britain,” she said.

The airport and the Czech Police declined to give details of the flights affected.

Another airport spokesperson, Jiří Hanich, told AFP that “airport operations remain normal and smooth” despite the threats.

Earlier checks by Czech Police

On Thursday, Czech Police inspected four aircraft after similar threats were made.

Warnings for flights to Sofia

A spokesperson for the Bulgarian Ministry of Transport told AFP that warnings were also received on Friday for two flights bound for Sofia, one from London Stansted and one from Brussels. Both landed safely.

Ryanair flight from Lisbon

Portuguese Police said a Ryanair flight due to leave Lisbon for Rome on Friday had also been the target of a threat.

A week of false alarms across Europe

Dozens of commercial flights in Europe have been targeted by false alarms this week. The threats have forced authorities to divert some aircraft and to send fighter jets to escort civilian planes.

This is a developing story.
