17-Year-Old Arrested Over Motorcycle Robbery in Limassol

A minor is expected to appear before Limassol District Court after two 30-year-old motorcyclists were allegedly attacked by three hooded suspects.

 

Police in Limassol have arrested a 17-year-old in connection with a robbery investigation involving two 30-year-old motorcyclists.

The teenager was arrested on Thursday afternoon under a court warrant and is expected to appear before Limassol District Court on Friday, where investigators will seek a remand order.

According to the evidence under investigation, the incident occurred at around 1 a.m. on Wednesday, while the two 30-year-olds were travelling on a motorcycle in Limassol. During their journey, an unknown vehicle allegedly approached them and blocked their path.

Three people, whose facial features were covered with hoods, then got out of the car and allegedly attacked the two men. According to the complaint, the two victims managed to flee the scene.

The suspects are then believed to have taken the motorcycle and left the area in an unknown direction.

Members of the Limassol CID went to the scene, carried out examinations and collected evidence. The stolen motorcycle was found a few hours later abandoned in a park in the city.

Limassol CID is continuing its investigations, while police are also examining the possible involvement of other individuals in the case.
