The Independent Authority Against Corruption has presented the law on transparency in public decision-making procedures, widely known as the lobbying law, to staff at Nicosia Municipality and members of the municipality’s Audit Committee.
The presentation aimed to inform municipal officials and strengthen their understanding of the law’s provisions, as well as the obligations arising from it.
In a statement, Nicosia Municipality said the presentation covered the main provisions of the legislation, the rights and obligations of officials, and the responsibilities of lobbyists. Clarifications and practical guidance were also provided on the correct implementation of the law.
Nicosia Mayor Charalambos Prountzos attended the event and underlined the importance of transparency, accountability and good governance in local administration.
He also stressed the importance of continuous training for municipal officials on issues relating to the modern institutional framework of governance.
Nicosia Municipality thanked the Independent Authority Against Corruption for holding the presentation and reaffirmed its commitment to promoting transparency, integrity and accountability across all areas of its operation, for the benefit of residents and the public interest.
