Cypriot authorities have turned their attention to Bulgaria as part of an ongoing investigation into three threatening emails sent to DISY concerning House President Annita Demetriou.

According to the latest information, Cyprus Police have forwarded the emails to the Bulgarian authorities in an effort to identify the sender.

Sources said that, using specialised tools, investigators can obtain information about the IP address used to send the messages. They can also trace the route followed by each email before it reached DISY headquarters.

Early findings indicate that the three emails are authentic and were sent from Bulgaria.

At the same time, Police are examining additional aspects of the case, including the language used in the messages and the grammatical errors they contain. Investigators are assessing whether the texts may have been translated into Greek from another language and reflect poor translation, or whether the sender deliberately used incorrect syntax.
