Police are investigating an alleged attempted murder in Nicosia after a man reported that unknown individuals opened fire on him while he was driving.
According to police, the complainant told officers that he was travelling through an area of Nicosia when shots were fired at his vehicle by unidentified persons.
Bullet damage found
Members of the Nicosia Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and the Forensic Investigation Service attended the scene and carried out examinations of both the location and the vehicle.
During the inspection, investigators found holes in the car that appear to have been caused by gunfire.
Evidence sent for analysis
Evidence was collected from both the scene and the vehicle and will undergo forensic and laboratory examination.
Police have not released details regarding possible suspects or a motive.
