The investigation into the causes and circumstances of the recent fire at the Kalo Chorio firing range has been completed, with the findings handed over today to National Guard Chief Lieutenant General Emmanouil Theodorou.
According to an announcement from the Ministry of Defence, the National Guard Chief will study the contents of the report and present it to the Defence Minister by the end of the current week.
The development comes just hours after a report published earlier today by Politis, which said the findings could be handed over as soon as today, a possibility subsequently confirmed by the ministry's announcement.
The conclusions of the investigation, and the findings contained in the report, have not yet been made public, since the evaluation process by the National Guard leadership is still under way.
According to the announcement, further information will be provided once the relevant process has been completed and the findings have been presented to the Defence Minister.
