A man was rushed to hospital after being struck by lightning in the village of Kato Drys on Saturday, according to preliminary reports.
The lightning strike occurred earlier on Saturday while the man was accompanying an elderly person to a monastery in the area.
No further details were immediately available regarding his condition.
The incident comes as severe weather continues to affect Cyprus, with thunderstorms, heavy rainfall, strong winds and hail reported across parts of the island since Saturday morning.
