A 30-year-old man remains in critical condition at Nicosia General Hospital after being seriously injured in an explosion in Sotira on Friday night.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the blast, with authorities examining all possibilities, including whether the case may be linked to an attempted murder.
Explosion reported on Friday night
According to the information under investigation, police received a report of an explosion in the Sotira area at around 9.20pm.
Officers who arrived at the scene found the 30-year-old injured outside a metal storage structure being used as a garage.
Transferred to Nicosia General Hospital
The injured man was initially taken to Famagusta General Hospital.
Due to the seriousness of his condition, however, doctors decided he should be transferred to Nicosia General Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.
Police examine all possibilities
According to information, authorities are investigating all possibilities regarding the circumstances in which the explosion occurred.
The possibility that the incident may be connected to an attempted murder has not been ruled out.
