Saturday forecast
Seasonal low pressure is affecting the region.
The weather will be mainly clear on Saturday, although locally increased cloud cover during the afternoon, particularly over the mountains, could bring an isolated shower or brief thunderstorm.
Winds will initially be light and variable at around 3 Beaufort, gradually becoming south-westerly to north-westerly at 3 to 4 Beaufort. Along parts of the southern coast, winds could strengthen to 4 to 5 Beaufort during the afternoon.
The sea will be calm to slight.
Temperatures will rise to around 38°C inland, 34°C on the southern and eastern coasts, 32°C on the northern coast, 31°C on the western coast and 29°C in the higher mountains.
Clear skies overnight
Saturday night will be mainly clear, although low cloud and light mist are expected to form locally later, particularly in inland areas and across the eastern half of the island.
Winds will gradually become mainly north-westerly to north-easterly at around 3 Beaufort, while the sea will remain calm to slight.
Temperatures will fall to around 19°C inland and in the higher mountains and 21°C along the coast.
Temperatures to fall by Tuesday
Sunday, Monday and Tuesday will generally remain mostly clear. Increased cloud cover is expected locally during the afternoons and could bring isolated rain over the mountains.
No significant temperature change is expected on Sunday. By Tuesday, however, temperatures are forecast to fall and settle slightly above the seasonal average.
