A 53-year-old man has been remanded in custody for five days after about 104 grams of cocaine were found and seized in the Paphos district.
According to the police, members of the Organised Crime Combating Directorate – Drug Law Enforcement Unit went to his home at around 5 p.m. on Tuesday to conduct a search under a court warrant. On their arrival, the 53-year-old was seen running in the yard and throwing a black case into a neighbouring field.
A search of the case found about 104 grams of cocaine, and the 53-year-old was arrested for an offence detected in the act.
During a subsequent search of his home, officers seized, among other things, a precision scale bearing traces of cocaine, €800 in cash and a wooden utensil on which traces of cocaine were found.
The 53-year-old was brought before the Paphos District Court on Wednesday, which issued a five-day remand order. The Organised Crime Combating Directorate – Drug Law Enforcement Unit (Paphos branch) is continuing its investigations.
