Following complaints from swimmers regarding the appearance of sewage at Timi beach, an on-site inspection of the area was carried out by Timi Deputy Mayor Giorgos Polykarpou to assess the situation.
According to reports submitted by beachgoers, sewage was observed in the coastal waters, triggering concern over public health and the safe use of the beach.
Swimmers have called on the relevant authorities to urgently investigate the incident, determine the possible source of the pollution and conduct the necessary water quality tests.
They also urged officials to take any measures required to protect public health and ensure timely public information should risks be identified.
Timi beach is located in the Paphos district, approximately three kilometres from the village of Timi. Accessible via an unpaved road, it is known for its shallow, crystal-clear waters and is popular with visitors seeking a quieter bathing spot. The sea there is also known for remaining particularly cold throughout the year.
