A fire broke out near the community of Drouseia in Paphos district, within the Forestry Department’s area of responsibility. Ground crews from the department and the Fire Service responded immediately.
Ground crews contain blaze
According to the Forestry Department, the fire was contained following the rapid mobilisation and intervention of its ground forces.
Aerial assistance was initially requested, but the situation was brought under control before aircraft needed to be deployed.
Fire Service personnel also assisted the operation, reinforcing Forestry Department crews in the area.
