Reshuffled Cabinet to Hold First Meeting on Thursday

Swearing-in ceremony and ministerial handovers will take place before the meeting.

The Cabinet will meet in its new composition at 1pm on Thursday following the mini reshuffle announced by President Nikos Christodoulides on Tuesday.

The meeting will be preceded by a swearing-in ceremony for the new members of the government, to be attended by President Christodoulides at the Presidential Palace, followed by formal handover ceremonies at the affected ministries and deputy ministries.

The handovers will take place at 10.15am at the Deputy Ministry of Social Welfare, 11am at the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works, 11.45am at the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, and 12.30pm at the Deputy Ministry of Culture.

On Tuesday, exercising the powers vested in him under the Constitution, President Christodoulides announced changes to the composition of his government. Evanthia Tsolaki was appointed Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Christos Senekis was named Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, Tina Pavlou was appointed Deputy Minister of Social Welfare, and Klea Papaellina was appointed Deputy Minister of Culture.

The President also appointed Ilias Myrianthous as Commissioner for the Environment and Animal Welfare, Eirini Poyiatzi as Commissioner for Citizens' Rights, and Panayiotis Palates as Director of the Office of the President.
