Another body has been recovered during ongoing search operations following the shipwreck that occurred on August 30, Turkish Cypriot leader Ünal Üstel has announced.
According to Üstel, the body was transferred to Dr Burhan Nalbantoglu Hospital, where the identification process will be carried out.
Search operations continue at 554 metres
Üstel said search and recovery operations were continuing around the clock, with teams working at a depth of 554 metres.
He noted that the considerable depth at which the operation is being conducted means the process could take time.
Following the latest recovery, the number of confirmed deaths from the August 30 tragedy has risen to 13, while 15 people remain missing.
Search teams are continuing their efforts to locate those still unaccounted for.
