Donald Trump remains in “excellent health” and is fully fit to carry out his duties, according to a medical report released after his latest routine examination.
The US president, who turns 80 on June 14, underwent medical tests this week at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center near Washington, in what was his third check-up there in 13 months.
“President Trump continues to enjoy excellent health, exhibiting robust cardiac, pulmonary, neurological and general physical function,” White House physician Sean Barbabella said in the report.
Barbabella said Trump was “fully fit” to perform all duties as commander-in-chief and head of state.
After the examination on Tuesday, Trump said “everything went perfectly”.
The report comes amid continued public scrutiny of the president’s age and physical condition. Since returning to the White House in January 2025, Trump has at times appeared with visible bruising on his right hand, sometimes covered with make-up.
The White House has attributed the bruising to his use of aspirin for cardiovascular prevention, as well as frequent handshakes.
Officials have also said Trump has chronic venous insufficiency, a common and generally benign condition that, in his case, has caused swelling around the ankles. The condition can also be associated with cramping.
Trump has often described himself as more energetic and physically fit than his Democratic predecessor, Joe Biden, who left office last year at the age of 82 after facing questions over his fitness for the presidency.
