First Lady Philippa Karsera Among Four Promoted to Ambassador

Four Foreign Service officials will be promoted to permanent ambassador posts from 15 May 2026, the Public Service Commission announced.

The Public Service Commission has announced its decision to offer promotions for the filling of four vacant permanent posts of Ambassador in the Foreign Service.

The promotions will take effect on 15 May 2026.

The officials promoted

The four officials are:

  1. Thessalia Siambou
  2. Philippa Karsera
  3. Maria Michael
  4. Charis Moritsi

Salary scale

The newly appointed ambassadors will be placed in salary scale A15. The starting level of the scale is approximately €74,000 gross annually (around €6,100 per month), while the highest level reaches approximately €95,000 gross annually (around €7,900 per month).
